Eagle Eye NDT’s has diverse experience and technical expertise. We perform the latest and most advanced Non-Destructive Testing techniques.
We evaluate the properties of materials, components or systems for the oil & gas, pipeline mining and other industries.
Non-destructive testing does not alter the equipment being inspected. Site-specific specialized mobile and stationary services reduce risk and save both money and time.
One of the more commonly used NDT methods, Ultrasonic Testing (UT) uses sound waves passed through the material to identify flaws. There are also Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT) methods. These include Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) and Time-of-Flight Diffraction (TOFD). These use computer-controlled scanners to collect real time data.
Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) can detect surface and sub-surface defects exclusively in ferromagnetic materials. Using an electromagnet, a magnetic field is used with a detection medium to reveal inconsistency in the magnetic field. Testing is done in the field or at the Eagle Eye NDT facility.
Commonly used for testing welds, Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) is a simple and cost-efficient process. It is usually performed with an aerosol penetrating dye that is applied to the surface. This test will show material flaws quickly as the Dwell time of the dye is typically below 30 minutes.
Electro-Magnetic (EM) Instruments will provide reliable data on the internal and external degradation of wire rope caused by corrosion. The instruments will also identify wear and various changes of rope structure. This includes everything from small locked coil ropes, plastic coated ropes and large gondola and chairlift cables.
Radiographic testing (RT) using digital radiography provides immediate high quality, high contrast, X-ray images during service operations. Corrosion and erosion are easily revealed improving quality assurance in real time. This test also provides a precise measurement of pipe wall thickness and weld quality.
The Visual Testing (VT) of objects, parts or components is always conducted by qualified technicians. In an illuminated environment visual testing is a reliable non-destructive testing method. This process not only employs line-of-sight contact but also optical and mechanical aids.
Hardness Testing (HT) is a cost-effective quality control process that includes various methods to measure the hardness of various materials. Several different types of hardness testing can be used. These include Eddy Current and Ultrasonic. Hardness testing is used to determine toughness, impact, and wear resistance.
Positive Material Identification (PMI) is a rapid, functional testing direct contact scan that uses x-rays on metallic alloys. This scan will identify percentages and types of metals and other materials in it. This is used to ensure material compliance in oil and gas components, fittings, machined parts, castings and other alloy parts.
Our certified API 653 and API 650 above ground tank inspectors will ensure that your inspection schedule is maintained. Tank inspections involve visual inspection, magnetic flux leakage, vacuum box testing and weld inspection services. Using all tests available will ensure that your tanks are compliant and safe.
Eagle Eye NDT rope access services allow us to reach difficult or otherwise inaccessible areas. Rope access is used for a wide rage of repair, maintenance and inspection work.
Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA) certified technicians are used in almost every aspect of visual inspection NDT services.
